Portrait is a genre with more possibilities than that of morphologically representing a person or character. We will learn to be narrative, tell a story or express an idea. We will study the symbols, the emotional in composition, colors, positions and looks. Topics to be discussed: short history of the portrait from which we will extract some necessary points for our workshop. Notions of composition, color and emotions. We will discuss the differences between "expressive portrait and symbolic portrait" to guide us in our practice. Guided practical class with appreciation.

(Valencia 1983) graduated in Fine Arts, completed a Master in Creative Design and graduated as a Professional Specialist in Illustration. Then she took all his diplomas and used them to draw from behind.

She currently works as a freelance illustrator in Barcelona on projects for everyone. She tries to express the most instinctive of the human being, from a characteristic style that dances between the beautiful and the grotesque, interested in the social denunciation. She has participated in numerous national and international collective exhibitions (Madrid, LA, Beijing, etc.), taught art workshops in Seoul, Barcelona, etc., and painted murals in NY, Kathmandu and others. She has published works with Alfaguara, Lunwerg, diminuta editorial, Ultrarradio, Norma, Dibbuks, Test and De Ponent. She was selected by Taschen for its volume of 100 artists at ILLUSTRATION NOW. She has performed anthologies, comics or fanzines for Cinemania, La Vanguardia, Vein, El Pais/Smoda, Ahora Semanal, Agapornis, YoDona, Kireei, Minchô. Her customers include Mango, Fnac, Kenzo, Lennylett, Sony, Reebok, Asus, Coca Cola, Amnesty International, Mahou, BBK and Primavera Sound.

She’s done art residences, and she has just published her sixth picture book. Her line trace reveals that she’s a nervous, independent person.
